Well, I think that the younger sister fell in love with her brother in law. Therefore she wants to be like her sister (reveling in the clothes and such) and that aroused her sister's suspicion and jealousy. At the dinner table, the blind sister put on make up but failed and the eyeliner went all over her cheeks, which meant that she had wanted her brother in law to view her as attractive. Her sister then got furious and dragged her to the bath to wash off her make up and broke down.
